I have just tried every file on my PC that has anything with HOSTS in the name
and all of them are ok i.e. can read/write to them. So maybe it is something
else

I had a similar issue and finally fixed it by fixing the permissions to the
CORRECT hosts file for the user that was having trouble. It wasn't the
main hosts file for the Citrix server that was the problem in my case, it
was one that was in a user's directories. For example:

 \\data\e$\Tshf03$\USERNAME\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

After fixing this, we've got CODE working just fine within Citrix. One
thing that we're doing though, is to keep one programmer on each Citrix
server (4 programmers and 4 Citrix servers) in order to minimize the
potential for trouble.

Hi Jon,

Yes you have mentioned it :-) But no I checked that and it is ok. I
scanned for the error number on the web and this page mentions that CODE is
not supported on Citrix

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/0/c1a13ad4a0ec8ffa86256e0000553a67?OpenDocument

There is also a message in the archive from Steve Cross that he had the
same problem with Citrix.

http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l/200306/msg00088.html

No one answered Steve's query, so unless anyone knows how to get around it
then it looks like I am stuck using them seperately. Unless, of course, I
can persuade the people here to get rid of Citrix. ;-)

But it does seem strange that I can use them stand alone but not thru WDSC,
a little challenge for the WDSC chaps and chapesses perhaps. :-)

Steve

More on our problems, I have found that I can use CODE designer and
VARPG by taking them straight from their folder but not thru WDSC

Apologies if I said this before (same ? Comes up on different forums) but
this can happen if the HOST file is read only. WDSC wants to add entries
to
it.
