Mike,If I'm not mistaken, DBU, DSPPFM, and CRTLF all ignore overrides by design. Check the documentation to be sure, though.

Mark, I have tried that. I also tried the other values. My original problem in the cl had to do with creating a Logical file over the copied file and wasn't working. So I trying to get to the basics of just an override. I thought maybe it was a problem with DBU, so I have tried doing a DSPPFM also. I can do a dspovr and the override shows. It just doesn't seem to be taking effect. Try this: OVRDBF FILE(EMPMST) TOFILE(QTEMP/EMPMST) OVRSCOPE(*JOB) Mark wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 07/12/2006 09:33:15 AM:I seem to be having problems with OVRDBF. My original problem started with a CL running interactively. Idecidedto get down to the very basics and did the following scenario. From command line. Lib Qtemp- end of lib list Lib Prodlib- middle of lib list CRTDUPOBJ OBJ(EMPMST) FROMLIB(Prodlib) OBJTYPE(*FILE) TOLIB(QTEMP) NEWOBJ(*OBJ) OVRDBF FILE(EMPMST) TOFILE(QTEMP/EMPMST) DBU EMPMST File displayed is from Prodlib. Shouldn't this display the file in QTEMP?
