Well, it goes like this.......... First of all I must thank you for replying. The debugger was working fine up until yesterday afternoon. I am using IBM Rational Software Development Platform Version:6.0.1. OS400 version 5.3. I have the server stopped, then right click on the server and select debug. It seems to start normally, prompts me for debug view, which is correct. Then just after I select to go to debug view It stops and displays the Class File Editor for URLClassPath.class with the Change Attached Source button, and underneath is a view of source code which WDSC will not let me copy(Murphy's Law to be applied here). At this point the server hangs in the "Starting" mode. Then after about 5 minutes a message displays stating: Error Recieved while starting the server Reason: The server named Websphere v5.1Test Enviornment @ localhost did not start correctly. Check the console for messages. I click ok on the message, then go to the console to find *** Starting the server *** status. The server is then in the status of Stopping... for a long time so I right click on it and end it. Which leads me back to where I started. This only happens when starting the server in debug mode. It works fine until I try to start in debug. I hope I have given you enough detail. I had a fairly expreienced co worker have a look at it and he hasn't seen that happen before. Thanks again, Pat. Pat, What is the version of your WDSc and what is the version of your OS400? Could you please describe how you tried to start the debugger in more details (step by step)? And please also give me the text for the error message. Please respond to Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries <wdsci-l@midrange .com> I have looked through the archives and haven't found anything to help me out on this problem. I am trying to start the WDSC debugger and I get an error stating that it had problems starting. I have tried creating a new server but still got the same message. It opens the source code for URLClassPath.class. I had not made any changes to the server or enviornment. FYI: I am probably considered a newbie to WDSC. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue.
