Hi

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, I want to rename the fields.
Here is an example:
     D udMsgRQLvl1 E DS Extname(PCF0L1DS) Qualified
     D usNXCB E Extfld(L1NXCB)
     D usTREL E Extfld(L1TREL)
     D usInCfgSect E Extfld(L1ICGS)
     D usMsgSection E Extfld(L1MSGS)
     D usConSection E Extfld(L1CONS)
     D usQASection E Extfld(L1QASN)
     D usCustNumber E Extfld(L1CUID)

All these fields appear as Extfld in the outline and as I wrote, when
trying to access them via auto completion.

Best regards
/Bertil

whenexternallydeclared data structure

Bertil,

Could you post some code? It sounds like you have something in the
wrong place on your D-spec.

If you define the DS as externally described using EXTNAME you don't
have to rename fields to get the external names. That happens
automatically. With the qualified keyword you will get something like
DSname.ExternalField.

HTH,

Rick
