Re: Portal Development

The advanced edition of WDSc 6.0 includes both the portal development 
tools (previously called the portal toolkit) and the portal test 
environment.  This includes support for the V5.0.2.3 and V5.1.0.2 portal 
servers (updates are available via the Rational Product Updater under the 
optional install tab).

This is only available in the advanced edition, not the standard edition.

When reading this web page remember that:
- WDSc 6.0 includes Rational Web Developer (WDSc 6.0 Advanced includes 
Rational Application Developer 6.0). 
- WDSc 5.1.1 includes WebSphere Studio Site Developer (WDSC 5.1.2 Advanced

Chris,

There's a portal toolkit for WDSC 6.  I just downloaded it for evaluation 
from the IBM partnerworld website and it installs fine in WDSC 6.0. 
(Somehow it however doesn't seem to include the Portal Test Environment ?)

The problem is that it is indeed all confusing and nowhere clear about 
what now exists for which version.

Does anyone know if I need the advanced edition of WDSc 6.0 to do portal 
development?  I found the portal toolkit on the IBM site, but they all 
look like they are for WDSc version  5.1.2. 

Also, what is the current version of Portal-Express Plus? 5 or is there 6 
to match WAS 6?
