I went through the IBM web services tutorial this past spring. As a result, i registered my test web service with IBMs registry. I just received an email from them earlier this week saying that they are taking down their registry. Perhaps this is why you cannot open your socket? Just a thought. When I select the UDDI Registry, enter a search string and press 'GO' after a few minutes I end up getting the following error. 'Error opening socket: java.net.SocketException: Malformed reply from SOCKS server. I have tried a couple of registries with the same results. Any idea what is causing this?
