Ctl-Space tooltip Help Not Working

Hi everybody,

        Since installing V 6.0 the Ctl-Space help pop-up has been unstable - it
works one time and the next it doesn't.  Sometimes when it doesn't work it
'Pings' audibly as an error and sometimes it is just ignored - is there a
setting or a fix that anyone knows of?  That function is very handy and I
will mourn its loss.  I can't get it to work today at all.
