Rich: You could also start by letting them know that PDM, SEU, SDA, RLU will no longer be enhanced by IBM, whereas WDSc/LPEX is constantly being enhanced. When your company bought their last iSeries and paid for maintenance, they paid to have static green-screen tools and dynamic client-based tools. So, their maintenance fees are already paying for WDSc enhancements. While David is correct about green-screen being able to produce the same quality of code, realize that what you have now is all you will ever have as far as green-screen is concerned...and although IBM hasn't (to my knowledge) announced that those tools are going away any time soon, I have to believe that come V7 or V8 the possibility exists. Your company has already paid for both sets of tools, but one has more functionality and that base keeps growing. Do the math. --Bruce Guetzkow (Just my opinion, of course.)
