Even the green screen tells you why. When you strart PDM on V5R3 it nags you with this message:

Information about new tools - press F1 for details

Pressing F1 gives you this:

Information about new tools - Details

WebSphere Development Studio Client is part of the tool set that you
already own. It's a full set of workstation tools for iSeries
programmers. It includes things like Web tools, Java tools, WebFacing,
and a modern tool for traditional RPG/Cobol development called Remote
Systems Explorer(RSE). Give the new tools a try. Once you've taken the
time to get familiar with RSE, you'll find you can be even more
productive than with the old text-based iSeries tools. You can find a
no-charge distance learning course on WebSphere Development Studio

Subject: [WDSCI-L] IBM (or other) web site listing why you should use WDSCi
Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 15:36:43 +0000

I am trying to get upper management to approve the installation of WDSCi. They are requesting documentation from IBM that states why we should be using it vs. the green-screens.

I've been surfing but have been unable to find a web site with this type of information on it.

Does anyone know of one that I can use to convince the managers that we should be using this?

Thanks,
Rich...
