I was uninstalling from Add/Remove programs, not from the Install.

I ran out of time yesterday and cancelled out (clicked the X in the corner, and
answered 'Yes' to the dialog about cancelling). The product was gone from
Add/Remove programs this morning, but I spent about half an hour manually
removing directories and registry keys that it missed. Finally got the install
running, which is proceding at a normal rate (by the standards of this machine,
anyway), so maybe I'm okay now. We'll see, I guess.

Thanks to those who responded!
