Well -- with the instructions on this page I have it 1/2 completed --
now the only thing that will not run is WDSC -- hum. When I installed
the package, I installed it on WinXP. The machine is set up to use MS
Data Execution Prevention. Herein lies the problem. During the install
process, the program "enroll" was blocked from executing. Now -- MS
handles these exceptions well (ugh!) -- rather than asking you if you
would like the process to run, it does not allow the process to run and
asks you if you would like to add it to the list of acceptable
programs..... BUT -- it blocked it from running! Then --- to top it all
off -- they ask you if you would like to send an error report to MS.
Obviously, MS has a bit of a bug there... Imagine that..

I followed the instructions in the link -- and that fixed Rational --
but it did not correct WDSC -- and I would not find the error listed on
the IBM support site. So -- I am re-installing the product. If that
does not work -- I will make the fateful call to IBM.

And Rob -- thanks again -- this is like the 3rd time I sent a message
before googling it -- and you sent me the answer without using the word
"idiot" or "stupid"!

Thanks..

Mike

[WDSCI-L] Installation problems

Well -- I finally received the new distribution of WDSC. I installed it
as a new install on a laptop. The install went ok -- I tried to start
it and I receive an error: "The license can not be found
RationalWebDeveloperWin32 Version 6.0 cannot start" and "The license
cannot be found. WDSCwin32 Version 6.0 cannot start" I never had this
before -- I looked in the readme and install docs -- there was nothing
about a license. This is a new install on this machine. Any ideas
before I make that dreaded call to IBM?
