How to use the newsgroup

On the readme.html I was referred to "Posting questions on a newsgroup". I 
followed the directions for subscribing to a newsgroup that IBM posted on 
the ICT site
http://community.ngi.ibm.com/newsreader.htm
(I use Notes.)
For server I put in news.software.ibm.com
For id I used the same id I use for ordering ptfs, etc.  And it's 
password.
However when I try to open the database that was created I get
"Error logging into server news.software.ibm.com:  You are not authorized 
to perform that operation"
