starting rse server

In order to start an rse server for a session I need to specify the IP
address of my pc explicitly.  We use DHCP, but generally my pc has been
on for several days and the IP address remains the same.  Because I'm
lazy I'd like to go with the defaults.  Am I expecting too much from the
command?  V5.1.2.5.
