I don't believe that newline is the action you want.

Try splitLine.

Hey, is this splitAndShift action new???  That's kinda nice.

Also, my backspace deletes, what editor profile are you using?

I'm using lpex.  

In any event, left doesn't seem correct.  Maybe backSpacewould work?
