Sorry, I do not know the answers to either of those questions.  You might 
try the Ignite/400 mailing list.  I think that Bleddyn does a lot with 
WCS.

Another option until you can upgrade would be to use the Windows client, 
TortoiseSVN.  I think the "concept" I am about to outline would work with 
WSAD 5.1.0.

1)  Using TortoiseSVN, checkout your WCS project to some folder (not in 
your workspace).

2)  In WSAD, do File -> Import and then "Existing Project into Workspace". 
 This makes the project available in WSAD (but does not physically move 
it). 

3)  You can then work in WSAD, and do your Subversion operations from 
TortoiseSVN.  If you keep all of the generated class files in a "bin" or 
"classes" folder, just tell Subversion to ignore that folder.

4)  If you do an Update in TortoiseSVN and that pulls down code from the 
repository (from another developer), then in WSAD, just right-click on 
your Project and choose Refresh so that Eclipse knows about the new 
resources.

The only part I do not know about is if Step #2 existed yet in that 
version.  I *think* it did.
