Joe,

I couldn't agree with you more: talking about the advantages of WDSCi on
this list is preaching to the choir (that's the correct expression, I
think).

Whenever I see my colleagues muddling with SEU, I feel sorry for them. But
when I hear them say "Why move to WDSCi when SEU does everything we need",
my sorry feeling is automagically gone, and I go back to my
content-assist-enhanced RPGLE sources ;-)

A side question for the group: in CODE I have/had a macro that enabled a
better help function in RPGLE, in that it gave you help for the
opcode/%bif that you were positioned on.

In WDSCi, pressing F1 on a free-format opcode or %bif takes me to ILE RPG
language reference - Free format operations.

Am I overlooking some preference to enable the better F1-handling in
WDSCi?

Thanks,

development

In a message that was disallowed in the RPG forum, I said:

"Talking about WDSC in WDSC isn't going to do a non-WDSC programmer much
good. But talking about why WDSC is as good or better than SEU/PDM for
RPG programming is a really good topic for RPG programmers."

You may agree or disagree with that sentiment. I'll just note that what
was perhaps the most active technical thread we've had in recent months
was rendered virtually extinct, and pose the question: who benefited
from that?

I think the thread should be returned to the RPG programming list.

Joe
