Assuming you have created a websphere test server:


*       Double click your test server (servers view) to edit the
configuration
*       Click the security tab
*       Add a JAAS authentication entry. This is where you can setup the
userid/password to access your systems/environments (You can also specify
this on the datasource properties)
*       Click the datasource tab
*       First you need to create a JDBC provider, to acess your 400.
Database type DB2, then select one of the DB2 for Iseries provider types
*       Select your provider, then create a datasource. The bits you need to
setup here are the JNDI name, which is how you will refer to the datasource
from your app, and the authentication, which you setup above
*       Click your datasource, and edit your datasource properties. These
are the same properties that you set on a database URL.
*       Your done
