I have just tried this trick and am having problems with it. I go through the prompt window and click finish. It looks like the editor has added a new line (my source view has moved down) but the status bar goes like crazy. I let it run for at least a minute and have to kill WDSC. Attempted this twice with the same results.

I have just freshly installed 5.1.2.4 and have all updates. Any ideas?

Best regards,

Gregg Willow

Saw this tip in the RPG list and I thought I'd cross post it. It's pretty
good.

Just found out the power of the outline window a couple of weeks ago. No more forgetting the name of the variable I just created on a d spec when I go back to the place in the source I want to use it.

There's a D-spec wizard that will let you create a D spec on the fly without leaving the spot where you want to use it.

1. At your current spot in the code type
      if somenewvariable > whatever
2. Put somenewvariable in your cut-and-paste buffer
3. Right click and select New > D-specification
4. Fill in the wizard fields
5. When you hit Finish, you're still where you typed the "if" statement
6. Use ALT-Q to have a peek at the new D spec if you want, and use ALT-Q
to return to your code
