Verify stuck on "Refresh Cache"

 
Hi,
 
I had a run away verify this morning (15 min -- normal is < 1) which
required me to kill WDSC using the Task Manager. After doing so, my "Refresh
Cache" option within the "Program Verification Options" dialog box is
constantly enabled. I'm able to uncheck the option and run a single
verification using the cache, but the cache option keeps reverting back to
being enabled.  I've tried both the "Restore Defaults" and "Apply" buttons
to no avail. 
 
Any idea how to change the default back to unckecked for this option?
