It appeared to us that the system did a pass to pick up the physical
files, and then did another pass through all the schemas to pick up
logical file dependencies.  

The other interesting thing was that when we upgraded to 5.1.2, it no
longer loaded stored procedures in the search.  That problem was
rectified when we installed the bundled DB2 (for the Application
Developer Client).

I have found that it still appears to load the complete schema, but when
you
look at  the details for the underlying tables, only the ones you have
selected will have been fully loaded
