I too, would like the paste. And I've been using member filters. That's sometimes nice. But when you do a large filter selecting all source members in the library the sort order baffles the heck out of me. Especially when I have the same member types in more than one source file. Like .rpgle in QRPGLESRC and QPGMSRC. I might stop using the large all member filters and drop back to all source file filters. I wonder if that's why I have paste and others do not. Jeff Stevens Mize, Houser & Co. If you right click on a member filter there is no paste, nor can you copy something to it. If you right click on a source file within a library or object filter you can paste. -----Original Message----- From: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of jag@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, October 08, 2004 12:11 PM To: wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] copy/paste & compare feature I have WDSC 5.1.0.3, I don't even have " paste ", leave alone grayed out, when I right click on the source file. Then right click on the source file name and select paste - it then ask me if I want to rename it (the member) , I give it my new name, then the CPYSRCF command comes up, and I click OK. What that means is if you have a filter for a library and expand it out to see the source files and then expand the source files, you can do the copy. But if your filter is just for the members of a source file, you can't drag a source to the filter name. If you copy the member to the same source file it asks if you want to rename. If you drag to another source file it brings up a cpysrcf prompt. Hope this helps, Cary Phillips -----Original Message----- From: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of infosys5@xxxxxxx Sent: Friday, October 08, 2004 10:24 AM To: Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Subject: [WDSCI-L] copy/paste & compare feature Group, In RSE, I would like to right click my source and then paste my source as another name, although the paste is greyed out. The reason for this is the File/SAVE AS takes forever - I want a quick way to rename or copy a source member. It seems to me, someone on this forum (maybe Kelly Cookson - who always has great ideas) has suggested a user function that will do something like this. I've searched my archive of "favorite tips" but cannot find this one. Also, does anyone use the COMPARE with EACH OTHER feature. I think this would be good to use if I could only edit the document while in compare mode. I can get the differences, but I am not allowed to make changes on the compare sources. With CODE/400 - when comparing, I could make changes. I am using version 5.1.0.3.
