Problems debugging Javascript in WSAD or WDSC

One of my clients reports the following with 

The documentation talks all over the place about how it is possible to debug 
javascript code (place breakpoints, single step, etc.) if one is using the 
local test server. This simply does not seem to work.

Does anyone know if this is true? Or, is it possible to debug Javascript? If 
so, how? What PTFs or fix packages are needed?  This is based on WDSC-i 5.1.2
