Well, something might be wrong with a 1000 lines of CL code in one program, but it nevertheless remains true that WDSCi is slow and occasionally crashes. The slowness of WDSCi significantly limits productivity gains from using it. I'm not saying you won't see a productivity gain using WDSCi. I'm saying you'd see a much bigger productivity gain from using WDSCi if it weren't so slow. (Has anyone ever seen a large Java program that was fast? The only examples of large Java programs I know are WDSCi and iSeries Navigator...which is making me very skeptical about the performace capabilities of large Java programs.) The crashing is rare for me, but it does happen, and I have on more than one occassion had to start a new workspace to recover. A minor pain in the butt. However, I have NEVER had SEU or PDM crash on me, and that is the standard to which WDSCi is being compared--like it or not.
