Rick, the Remote Search capability for searching text strings in IFS files
is only available in WDSc 5.1.2.

The customize window doesn't show Remote Search. I do see iSeries, File,
Help, Java, Plug-in Searches but no Remote. Also, I found that we have 1.2
JDK and in our install of V5R3 soon, we will get 1.3 and 1.4. I have also
ordered the latest 5.1.2 of WDSc, which should bring some of these
capabilities. Thanks.

Sorry, but I am on 5.1.2 and it is there.

When you click on the Flash light, a search window comes up.  In the lower
left
corner of this window, is there a Customize button?  If so click on it and
see
if Remote Search is listed there.  If so, is it checked or un checked?
