Communications error launching debug

Recently I have been experiencing a problem when I attempt to start a debug 
session.  I receive a pop-up with the message 'Communications Error' and the 
session stops.  The state still shows 'running' and I can't seem to terminate 
it.

Anything I have tried short of rebooting doesn't seem to help.  Sometimes it 
occurs quickly other times I can get through several sessions before the error 
appears.  I installed 5.1.3 a couple of weeks ago.  I'm not sure but the 
problem may have started after that.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
