I use lots of workspaces, Brian, and I like to back them up to DVD. There are definitely issues with the long names. Windows has a limit somewhere around 253 characters, after which bad things happen, including files getting copied to the root folder and so on. WinZip has problems with long names, as do many of the DVD burning programs. I've found that keeping the only way to be successful is to keep folder names for my workspaces to under about 20 characters. I have a folder in root called WDSC, and in it I keep subfolders for projects. I keep the names for the subfolders VERY short. There's one situation in particular that I can't recreate right now where a debug class is created having a generated path and file name over 200 characters, and that's WITHOUT including the folder name.
