Joyce,

We had this problem because network support does not give us admin authority
on our 2000/XP boxes. WDSCI needs to put a reference to the connection in
the windows HOSTS file. We got around it by having an administrator sign on,
create the same connection name, and open CODE from RSE. Then any user on
that PC can use the connection to find CODE.

HTH,
Roger

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Cannot launch Code Designer from RSE

A developer here can only use Code Designer if she kicks it off standalone.
She has never been able to start Code Designer from RSE. When she right
clicks on the file and selects Open With - Code Designer, the tool does not
respond. An error window eventually pops up in the background saying
"OS/400 communications error. Return code 4
(hexadecimal)." We are using WDSC 5.1 here and other developers can
access Code Designer from RSE just fine. Any ideas as to why this is not
working? Is there something perhaps in the communication properties or
preferences that needs to be set a certain way? Thank you for your help!
