Hello,

We have used the WebFacing tools to webface some
screens and all has gone well so far. However we
recently decided to precompile the generated .jsp
files in an attempt to gain better performance and
noticed something odd. In each folder for a specific
screen two .jsp files get generated that, when
compiled to .java files, end up with 0 size. In other
words, they get created as .java files but they are
empty. The two files are always labeled
<dir_name>X.jsp and TRADEMRK.jsp and do contain valid
jsp tags and java code. For example if WebFacing
created a directory for some screen code called ABC004
then it would create all the .jsps you would expect
for the screen but also add ABC004X.jsp and
TRADEMRK.jsp. Has anyone experienced this before and
know why these files compile to 0 length? Are these
files even used by the rest of the application (if
they will eventually disappear when compiled by the
web server anyways)?
