I am not saying this will never be the case, but in general you should NEVER have to uninstall/re-install and Eclipse-based application like WDSC. Any problems you experience are likely confined to your workspace, not the actual installation. The first thing I would do is rename my workspace and then restart WDSC. This will create a new workspace from scratch and let you start over. If the problem is gone, then you can import from your old workspace or perhaps try to rename your old workspace back and see if it is something you can fix manually. It really depends on what you are doing in your workspace. For example, I have all of my projects stored in a source repository so all I do is create a new workspace and re-import my projects. For RSE, I usually recreate my filters, but it is possible to copy them, at least in theory. I also try to regularly export my preferences to a file so that I can just import them into my new workspace, that can save a lot of time.
