IBM is just now getting WDSC to a really nice point, so it's company policy they must now completely redo it. IBM will first state there will be no changes to WDSC that will adversely affect us. Later, the actual formal announcement mad by IBM will quietly say they will just have to rebuild it from the ground up. Not to worry though. It will be declared strategic and in about 18-24 months they'll have the new editor (whatever it is) almost to the point the lpex editor is now. That is good because the lpex editor now is actually starting to get to the feature-point that CODE was a couple of years ago. </TIC> I wondor if the suits at IBM have any clue what this does to us, the customer, as well as what it does to the really hardworking developers IBM has that continue to bust their butts to deliver something as nice as WDSC.
