   Reboot successful, WDSC1 started with no comment about the .LOCK file.

   However, I'm still at 5.1.

   Told update manager to check for updates and it went off to look.  5.1.0.1
   showed up fairly quickly but it kept running.  I used the Cancel
   button after 15 minutes.  Cancel button doesn't seem to to anything,
   though maybe I should have waited for more than 3 minutes, but it was
   getting late.

   More exoerimentation on order this weekend.
