RE: How Long to Update?

Yes, they are available from the IBM support pages:

WSSD:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/studiositedev/support/

WSAD:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/studioappdev/support/

WDSC:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/wdt400/support/

The download option for the latter contains the downloads for WSSD and 
WSAD.  However, it does not contain the download for WDSC itself.  So it 
looks like you can get all but that last update for WDSC itself.  Not sure 
why.  Maybe I just missed it and it is there somewhere.  In the past, some 
updates have been there.

However, if you point your browser to this URL:

http://www3.software.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/websphere/iseries/wdsc51/update/

And then download each of the files available, and recreate the directory 
structure on your hard-drive, then you should be able to apply that update 
manually via Update Manager using a local location.

For example, create a structure like this when everything is downloaded:

C:\WDSCUpdates
    site.xml
     \features
     \plugins
