The version numbers are for CVS' benefit, you do not set them or control
them. CVS has something called Tags that would let you apply a version
label to a set of revisions.

Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] CVS for Teams
Well, I got it to go to the root for me. I am just experimenting with it
now. Is there a good "basic" resource on there on explaining the basics of
this through WDSc?
Like how do I set the version?
What exactly does commit do?
On the set version, I can't type in 1.0 what is this used for?
Thanks,
Mike Wills

There is CVS support built into WDSC. You need to use that. Also, don't
try to mix and match it with another CVS client in the same directory, it
causes problems.
There is a CVS Repositories view that you can open. Add your repository,
then expand it, find your project, right-click and do Check Out As ...

I was playing with this a bit this morning, but I can't seem to get it to
work. I am running CVS on debian linux. I created an iseries directory
under
$CVSROOT and ran cvs -d$CVSROOT/iseries init. Now how do I configure WDSc
to
access this?
