My best guess is that you are having problems where you require HTTP proxy to access the Internet. If you have WDSC 5.1, then go to Window -> Preferences and then choose Install/Update. There is then a place where you can enter your proxy configuration. You should be able to copy whatever you would enter in your browser configuration. Also, since you successfully installed the Messages plug-in you can actually skip one step in the spooled file plugin install. When the message plugin installs it adds our update site as a folder under your "Sites to Visit" within Update Manager. Expand that folder, and then expand "SoftLanding.com Discovery Site". You can then install the spooled file plugin from there. However, this still would require the HTTP Proxy to be configured. If you cannot get the connection working, send an email to the address listed on our site, and they will email you alternate instructions that works like the messages plugin. Now onto the spool file plugin ... After following the PDF instructions I get the following error when expanding Softlanding in the Feature Updates window 'Unable to access "http://softlanding.com/free_plugins/" further details give error parsing site stream. [White spaces are required between publicID and systemID] Unable to access site stream: "http://www.softlanding.com/free_plugins/site.xml" [: "http://www.softlanding.com/free_plugins/site.xml] Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?? The instructions for the Messages plugin now have you download a zip file instead of the technique the spooled file plugin used. This is because we ran into a lot of people that had Proxy/Firewalls that did not work with the Install/Update manager. But if that worked for you with the spooled file plugin, it will also work for the messages plugin. Also, as with the spooled file plugin you have to either create a new RSE connection, or delete/recreate your existing one for the new "susbsystem" to appear. IBM has fixed/enhanced this in RSE, but it will not be available until a future refresh of WDSC. Mark PS - If you didn't already do so, you might still want to go through the process on our web site so that you can get the PDF with the documentation for the plug-in and how to set it up.-------------------------------------------------------- FormaServe Systems Ltd 91 Redland Drive Loughton Milton Keynes Bucks UK MK5 8FL T: +44 (0)1908 609500 W:www.FormaServe.Co.Uk www.iSeriesTraining.Co.Uk E: Info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------------- This message (and any associated files) is intended only for the use of wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx and may contain information that is confidential, subject to copyright or constitutes a trade secret.
