I recently was reading about debugging of SQL functions using the SOURCE code SQL rather than C and decided to try to create a procedure or function under WDSCi V5 and then debug it visually. I've been using the RSE perspective and editting iSeries RPG, CL, HTML for Net.Data on both the IFS and native source members. I followed the help that suggested I open the data perspective. This was my first use of a data perspective. In this perspective, I created a project called FunctionBuild. I configured a DB server (to my iSeries box) and guessed at the java jar file locations etc. required for this. I worked and I pointed to a test library. I got a list of objects in that library with folders for Tables, Indexes, Alias - including Stored Procedures but not Functions. In the Stored Procedure folder, I was able to see several existing procedures. I right clicked and imported one of the procedures into my FunctionBuild project. Now I can go into the project, click the object and see/edit the code of the procedure. Here are my problems. 1) I wanted to do a function and don't see anything about them 2) When I complete the code and right click - it is suppoed to say BUILD but that option along with all other except copy/cut and create EJB are greyed out. I must not have DB2 for iSeries configured to build? How is that done? Thanks. RF Rick Flagler Manager, Information Technology Projects Timken Super Precision Keene, NH 03431 (603) 352-0310
