I have lockups, but it doesn't flicker. It just freezes. I'm now having a problem with it taking forever to insert a line. It doesn't happen all of the time. There is no rhyme or reason for why it does it. I'll hit enter to insert a new line and sometimes it sets there for 4 or 5 seconds before inserting the line. Also, when copying and pasting from one source to another, the paste takes sometimes a minute or more depending on how large the block of code is. I'm hoping for big improvements in October as well. I am also running version 5. I have a lot of hope for the new version/upgrade coming out in October. It would not be so bad if it was only when it was saved, but for it to do it when I am editing is too much. And with me, it has on occasion locked up to the point where I have to kill the program. The cursor just flickers between the arrow and the hour glass. It hasn't caused me any problems other than being very annoying. Thanks, Mark Mark D. You have only two choices: (1) Upgrade to version 5 or (2) use code/400 on large source members. There appears to be a bug in the save routine in Lpex on version 4. I have not experienced any problems with saving large source members using version 5. Quite often while I am editing a source member, the LPEX editor will appear to lock up, with the cursor flashing to an hour glass. A couple of times it never came back and I had to end the program. It also seems to happen after I have saved the member. It looks like it is either re-color coding the source or trying to validate it. Is there something I can turn off so that this does not happen? I am trying to demonstrate to the other developers here that this is a stable environment to work on instead of SEU, but I am not having a lot of luck.
