That was the answer Mark - thanks.  I now remember that I came upon it by
accident before - not the most intuitive of spots is it.

Expand the RSE connection, right click on the "iSeries Objects" subsystem
and choose Verify Connection.

As Sam says, it lists a lot of bogus PTF's.  The best thing is just to use
the readme.
