Eric Simpson's article was already mentioned in this newsgroup - http://www.ignite400.org/news/pdf/news2003021002.pdf.

If this seems overwhelming, simple 'macros' (such as all the samples in the LPEX API Reference - see com.ibm.lpex.samples package) can be just compiled from the MS-DOS prompt (e.g., javac TestUserProfile.java) once <...>/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.lpex_1.3.8/lpex.jar is in the CLASSPATH, and the resulting *class file(s) added to the same <...>/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.lpex_1.3.8/ directory in order to be visible to the LPEX plug-in classloader.

Sounds like a good idea for a macro. Perhaps even a learning experience
that could go on the IBM jLpex web site as a FAQ for how to write macros.
