Mark,

There are two compile scenarios in the RSE, depending on whether you are
doing batch compiles or running the compile in the RSE communications
server job. The following preference setting determines which way
compiles are done:

Window -> Preferences, then select Remote Systems -> iSeries -> Command
Execution and look for the "Compile in batch" checkbox.

Regardless, both should use the library list currently in place for the
RSE connection when doing compiles. The only reason I can think of that
the library list would not be used is if you compiled in batch and
overrode the INLLIBL parameter for the sbmjob command.

One thing to remember is that the two RSE connections you have created
both have a separate server job and therefore separate library lists.
Also, any changes you make to the "initial library list" property page of
your RSE connection (by right clicking on any of the subsystems and
selecting properties) only take affect the next time the connection is
connected (i.e. they won't be added to the connection if it is currently
connected.)

If none of this describes the behavior you are seeing then please provide
some more details about how you have the connection configured, where the
libraries are being added to the library list and how the compile is being
run (comm server job or batch.)

Thanks.

Phil,

I followed your directions and set up a filter pool for my live source,
Then I set up a new connection for my test source and added a filter pool
for the source. But when I compile out of my live source, it ignores the
library list set in the connection and therefore my compiles fail. Not
sure
what I did wrong.

Thanks,

Mark
