Eric,
The installer produces some log files in "c:\program files\ibm\kcl".
Pls send me by attachment the logs "WDSC_999.log" and we can start from
there.

I have experienced the same problem as Samuel Lennon when I tried to
install
V5 on my system. I didn't have any projects to back up so I uninstalled V4
and rebooted before attempting V5 I experience the same problems with
changing the disks and I solved that problem by finding a DVD and copying
the entire disk to our network. Again I uninstalled all of what was
installed of V5 and then tried the DVD install. The install seemed to run
smoothly after that until it came to the part where it wanted to install
the
plugins. It popped a message up on my screen that said:
InstallShield
Command line parameters:
/L language ID
/S Hide initialization dialog. For silent mode use: /S
/v /qn
/V parametersto MsiExec.exe
/UA<url to MsiA.exe>
/UW<url to InstMsiW.exe>
/UM<url to msi package>
I clicked O.K. only to have it tell me that there was an Internal Error and
to try the Repair function to fix the problem. I clicked O.K. and had to
reboot. I tried the Repair function and the same messages came up. I did
a
little research from the help files included and found the log file from my
installation and it said the following:
=====================================================
07/05/2003 - 11:02:01
11:02:01 - Start install process ...
11:02:01 - remove products
11:02:01 - Begin launch License
11:02:29 - ERR: LaunchProcessAndWait(MsiExec.exe
/i{543C369C-5E97-4625-8229-F1D256CD5676} REBOOT="ReallySuppress" /l*v
C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\KCL\wdscrlic.log) failed. iRC = 1602
11:02:29 - start reboot process
11:02:35 - start reboot process
One more item: I experienced this last problem the first time around when I
tried installing V5 from the CD's.
Any suggestions as to why it is doing this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Eric Bennion
