Just a note. I just finished a review of the Eclipse 2.0 JDT versus VAJ.
Those who know me know that I am one of the biggest VAJ advocates around,
and that I look at the Eclipse stuff with a bit of a juandiced eye.

However, I was surprised. My article comes out in MCMagOnline Monday, but
in (admittedly subjective) testing I rated VAJ a 4.1 and the JDT a 3.9. Not
bad, considering I really wanted Eclipse to fail.

What's the point? The point is that, done correctly, the Eclipse editors
kick some serious butt. Whether or not the RPG and COBOL editors will come
up to speed in Eclipse is something we'll have to wait and see about, but at
least so far I'm pretty impressed.

The caveat is that you do indeed need a hefty workstation. I've got a
1.6GHz P4 processor and 1GB of RAM, and everything runs great.
