I don't know if it is related, but at last weeks DevCon conference we were
using WDSc with (I think) SP3 loaded and I noticed a strange behavior in the
CODE Comms properties.  When you defined a new server it did as usual and
put the idiot blank name in the list, which it then updated with the real
name after you entered it and pressed the "Change" button.  What happened
next was that the server name was added to the list twice.  I decided to let
it go and see what happened.  On a subsequent Open dialog I did have two
with the same name but the second was the normal ADM one.  When I went back
to comms properties to see if both servers were still there, 1 had
disappeared.

As I say I doubt it is related, but I had not seen it before.
