Guys:

Just a note ... while certifying my plug-in for RDP 7.5 I discovered that the editor id for the Screen designer was changed.

I did some digging and discovered the new editor id ... and it was confirmed by folks in the IBM Toronto lab.

It used to be: com.ibm.etools.iseries.dds.tui.editor.TuiEditor
It is now: com.ibm.etools.iseries.dds.tui.editor.ScreenDesigner

Also, the new Report designer's editor id is: com.ibm.etools.iseries.dds.tui.editor.ReportDesigner

The technique I use to determine if a specific editor is available is ...

---------
private boolean isEditorInstalled(String id) {

return (getEditor(id) != null);
}

public IEditorDescriptor getEditor(String id) {

IWorkbench workbench = PlatformUI.getWorkbench();
IEditorRegistry editorRegistry = workbench.getEditorRegistry();
IEditorDescriptor editor = editorRegistry.findEditor(id);

return editor;
}

---------
