Folks:

I've run into a bit of a snag when I'm trying to rename an object that's in the RSE tree.

The object itself extends AbstractResource. It has a doRename method. And is managed by an adapter that extends AbstractSystemViewAdapter.

What I'm trying to do is indicate a rename attempt has failed.

The problem is, no mater what I do, the 'name' of the item in memory gets renamed.

I've tried returning false from the doRename method in AbstractSystemViewAdapter ... I've also tried throwing a SystemMessageException, in both cases ... if I try to rename the object again ... the name I last tried to rename to is what shows up in the rename dialog as the current name.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

david
