Is there a simple hello world application example I can use to connect to an
I and display data from a table? I installed Visual studio 2012 that came
with one of my windows subscriptions.

I guess for now an application that ran on windows would be good enough to
start. I think I'll use some Christmas gift cards to purchase some books.
I know that the i pro developer folks run a class for getting started with
Visual Studio for i developers but so far when it comes around I'm either
low on funds or busy.
