Logging addressed in other thread, but as for base code, I'd do a bit of optimizing if I was you. For example, the ConvertToNumericDate method could be re-written as:

static public int ConvertToNumericDate(DateTime dateTime)
{
if (dateTime.Date == DateTime.MinValue)
{
return 0;
}
return dateTime.Year * 10000 + dateTime.Month * 100 + dateTime.Day;
}

There's no need to create a new DateTime, as DateTime(1,1,1) is the definition of DateTime.MinValue. Also, while .net is _really_ good at allocations and garbage collection, there's no need to do the conversion of the datetime to an integer as a series of string allocations when it can be done entirely on the stack.
