The default value for an object is null. Since DateTime is a value type,
the default value is DateTime.MinValue ( how the method knows that, I am not sure ;) )

DateTime is actually a strut with value-type semantics. :-) But for how the method knows that, see the "default()" keyword. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xwth0h0d%28VS.80%29.aspx
