OK. I know RJS will disagree w/me, but you're chosen the right language.
:=). While there are some really cool things in VB.Net (not the least of
which is the new XML literal support) I've always felt C# was closer to
"native", kind of how I view RPG vs. Cobol on i. :-)

First, read, read, and um, read more. Spend some time in your local book
store (you can actually read book there, really. :-) and get some
exposure. If you're looking for details I highly recommend Jeff
Richter's CLR via C#, but perhaps that's more of a 401 class. :-)

Hmmm... things on my shelf...
Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software (Not
.Net, but a must read)
Pro C# 2008 and the .Net 3.5 Platform
ASP.Net 3.5 Step By Step
ASP.Net 2.0 Server Control and Component Development
etc.

I also strongly recommend Telerik's controls from a UI point of view,
some amazing stuff in there. And a great group of people to work with.
(Just a happy customer).

Oh, and what version of the framework are you targeting? Hopefully 3.5
w/VS2008. At a minimum 2.0 with VS2005. If you're still looking at 1.1
then god help you.

More specifically, C# and web application development. While I have
written
a couple applications, I want something that can give me a better solid
base
on developing in .NET. I'll be supporting our web developer more in the
future and we are just kind of browsing around so I can have a more firm
understanding. Not necessarily a 101 class, but maybe 102 or 103.
