As many have said, System21 does indeed have full Warehousing functionality as a

core module, you will need to look for the WM application in system Manager

IT allows the sort of process you have described and for many S21 Users it

provides much needed process and structure. Its a movement based system that

also allows you to have the ability to send "Clean" despatch notes to your

customers.

Yes, System/21 does handle warehouse locations . Although, it depends on the

modules you have purchased if you can utilize it. System/21 has a Warehouse

Module and there was also a Location module that was written at one point. The

location module is a scalled back version of the warehousing module.

Did your organitation purchase either of these?

too complicated as we are having to maintain pack types, rules etc. And

inventory module only gives us 2 locations with one stock figure which is

too simple.

Would be really good to see how the location module works.

I dont know a lot about the location module, but I think it was only available

on a old release and was not working with the Manufacturing applications either.

I could be wrong about that though.

You have the standard base functions. Infor offer two extra packages, one

called Location Control and another Warehousing. These offer enhanced

functions. There are also other options available e.g. scanning.

We use the location module, but on are base not style.

We are on Aurora 2.2.

I'm not sure if it works with the manufactuting module as our companies

that use manufacturing are not using the location module. The companies

using the location module have no problems and you can set up as many

locations as you need.

Our locations are like A23B where A= aisle, 23 is rack#, and B is rack

level.

Item/stockroom enquiry has a key F15 to look at stock by locations.

Every inventory transaction must have an existing location specified.

Here is an example of the location screen. We also use lot control &

secondary uom(RL).

Location Lot (RL) Physical (MT) Frozen (MT) Allocated

(MT)

B27A 9970/B 7 303.500 .000

65.000

B43A 9897/F 1 48.000 .000

We tried to use location control in 3.5c but had some issues. The major issue

was what items were allocated and how. When looking at the program the logical

file selected items by location instead of items by receipt date or oldest lot.

I was going to modify the program but we decided to upgrade to Aurora 2.3. Is

There are 4 main points with System21 solutions in this area,

1) Inventory (IN) is at stockroom level.

2) Warehousing (WH) is too detailed and timely to setup and manage.

3) Location Control (IN) was not fully stable at earlier versions.

4) All are batch/paper based, not "real-time" solutions.
