Steve,

I have joined this string late in the game, but I am using Aurora 2.3,
with roles, in a green on black environment, so I may be of some
assistance.

I am not exactly sure what the nature of your problem is, but if it is
granting a user access to a menu option with roles enabled, you have to
give the role access to the menu option, which it sounds like you have
done, and you have to grant the "user profile" access to the company for
the application/environment where the menu option exists. To provide
the user profile with access to the application/environment:
1. Access System Manager (STRM400)
2. Select option 5 - Administration Functions
3. Select option 2 - Maintain User Profiles
4. Type in the User Profile to be maintained, press enter
5. Press F19 - Company/Task
6. Type a 1 next to the appropriate application and environment, press
enter
7. Type a 1 next to the appropriate company, press enter
8. F12 to exit Company/Task Maintenance
9. F3 to exit User Profile Maintenance
10. F3, Enter to exit Administration Functions
11. F3 to exit System Manager

Regards,

Bob Plunkett

Hey Gary,

Long time no mails.? :-)

Yes they do use Aurora, I have no idea what version it is, I don't know
where to find that. I do not believe the client has documentation, its a
Dutch company, the AS400 is crammed into a small room with lots of
wires, servers and a couple of printers. I spoke to Infor but they were
insistant that I raise a ticket and they would then look at this instead
of me, the way things are going I may have to advise the client to do
this anyway.

I'm actually sat in my house doing this remotely for them, I normally
just check that everything is working before they come in on a morning,
occasionally they have other stuff for me to do, like this. I also used
to know quite a bit about system manager, but as I said in an earlier
mail I had a medical problem last year and a lot of it has gone, I am
finding things come back as I go in to do stuff, but not, unfortunately,
this stuff.? LOL

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

How are you doing?

Are you using Aurora? We are on 3.5.2 but I do have Aurora loaded for
evaluation. I do not have any documentation and as yet have only created
one user. Do you have any documentation? Can't you call Infor support?

I will help if I can, I used to know a bit about system manager!

Regards
Gary.

I have looked at the roles and made changes to one of the users profiles

mine, I can access the option, but when I sign on as the user I cannot.
So I am not sure what is wrong.

Steve,

Do you have authority to perform Common Functions...?
If not you will not likely see the authority screens...

Look at the record in IPGCFF4/APG05PHY that has your name on it...
The last ten positions of this record should be all '1' if you want
to be able to do Common Functions which includes granting and revoking
authority...

Typically the QSECOFR or QPGMR profile have the requisite clearance
to perform CF...

Good luck...
